Zalgiris Kaunas had a fantastic offensive performance to beat defending champion Rytas Vilnius 108 – 93 in Game 1 of the Lithuanian League Finals.

Arnas Butkevicius led six Zalgiris players in double figures by scoring 21 points. Tomas Dimsa had 13 points, Tyler Cavanaugh and Lukas Lekavicius scored 12 apiece while Edgaras Ulanovas delivered 11 points and seven assists for the winning side.

Marcus Foster (19 points) and Evaldas Kairys (14 points) stood out from Rytas that didn’t have any problems making buckets but was unable to contain Zalgiris, especially in the second half.

The two teams were tied at 46 at the break but then Zalgiris stormed out of the locker room to score 34 (!) points vs. Rytas’ 25. The hosts kept pushing to retain their advantage.
