After leaving CSKA Moscow, Alexey Shved mentioned having conversations with Olympiacos and was rumored to be in touch with Crvena Zvezda. However, in the end, he has chosen to continue his career in China.

As his agents announced, Shved has signed an agreement with the CBA team, Shanxi Fenjiu PBC. The former NBA player and two-time EuroLeague top scorer will play in the Chinese Basketball Association for the first time in his career.

Shved made his first foray into professional basketball with CSKA Moscow 17 years ago. Including two loans to Khimki and Dynamo Moscow, he spent the first six years of his career tied to the “Army men” before trying his luck in the NBA.

The 34-year-old guard played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, and New York Knicks from 2012 to 2015, and then returned to Europe with Khimki Moscow, where he spent the next six years before rejoining CSKA in the summer of 2021.

He played 182 regular-season games in the NBA, averaging 7.4 points and 2.5 assists, and recorded 140 appearances in the EuroLeague, averaging 16.3 points with 4.3 assists. Shved won the EuroLeague in 2008 and two VTB titles during his first stint with CSKA, as well as four Russian championships. He earned many individual accolades during his career, including two Alphonso Ford trophies, EuroCup MVP and Top Scorer, and VTB League MVP. He was also the assists leader in EuroLeague two years ago.

Last season he averaged 17 points and 7,8 assist with CSKA in the VTB League.
