Not making it to the EuroLeague Play-In Showdown, Zalgiris Kaunas has all the attention set on the BetSafe LKL, wanting to get back again on top in the Lithuanian domestic league.
However, after an intense encounter that went through two overtimes, Neptunas Klaipeda surprised the green-and-white powerhouse, winning 114-112 with a huge 28-point effort from the bench by Mindaugas Girdžiūnas and Žygymantas Janavičius’s double-double of 22 points and 11 assists.
On the losing side, Keenan Evans led as usual his team in scoring with 26 points, followed by his backcourt partner Edmond Sumner, who had a losing effort of 21 points. Off the bench, Kevarrius Hayes grabbed 16 rebounds in the defeat for Andrea Trinchieri’s team, who still stayed 1st.
