Following losing efforts for Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem and Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv in Round 16 of the 2024-25 edition of Israel’s Winner League Regular Season, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv led from start to finish to beat Maccabi Ramat Gan, 98-87, in Zisman on Sunday.
Matching his best scoring showing this season, between domestic competitions and the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Roman Sorkin piled up 22 points with 9/10 field goals, including 4/4 from beyond the arc. Over 27 minutes, he added five rebounds, four assists, and one block.
Overcoming an early ankle injury, Rokas Jokubaitis followed with 18 points behind 6/9 from the field. Levi Randolph and Jasiel Rivero followed with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
Besides Jaylen Hoard (hamstring) on the sidelines, Marial Shayok was a healthy scratch.
Jumping to a total of 30 points, the team coached by Oded Kattash went two points clear of Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem.
