Reuniting with Adam Sandler, Boban Marjanovic makes an appearance in the upcoming sports comedy film Happy Gilmore 2, set to stream on Netflix on June 25.
The 36-year-old Serbian center previously worked with Sandler in the Netflix film Hustle, starring Juancho Hernangomez. Other acting credits include John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
Bouncing back in Hollywood action, he joins a long list of cameos in the sequel to the 1996 film, Happy Gilmore.
A veteran of 54 games in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 362 in the NBA, the most recent basketball appearances of Marjanovic were in China’s CBA. Over five games in the 2024-25 Regular Season with the Zhejiang Lions, he tallied 4.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 0.6 steals, 0.4 assists, and 0.2 blocks per contest.
The towering center, displaying his talents in the league based in North America from 2015 to 2024, quickly became a fan favorite across the San Antonio Spurs, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks, and Houston Rockets. Returning to Europe, he started the 2024-25 journey with Fenerbahce Beko, but parted ways with the eventual EuroLeague champions to sign with the Lions in January.
Before his NBA run, Marjanovic launched his professional career in 2006. Expanding to the EuroLeague, he played for Crvena Zvezda, Zalgiris, and CSKA.
At the international level, following a successful junior career, he emerged as a regular for the senior national team of Serbia and won a silver medal in the EuroBasket 2017.
