The Israeli Basketball Super League semifinal between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Jerusalem was suspended during the third quarter on Sunday after missile fire from Iran triggered security concerns.
While the score was 77-67 in favour of Hapoel Tel Aviv, the host team, officials were forced stop the game and prioritize the safety of players, coaches, staff and fans inside the arena.
The interruption came with the highly anticipated semifinal contest still in progress, leaving uncertainty over when and how the game will be completed.
The suspension is the latest sporting event in Israel to be affected by the ongoing security situation in the region.
League officials are expected to provide further details regarding the status of the game and any potential rescheduling plans once conditions allow.
