One impressive first half and Joe Alexander’s leadership helped Maccabi Tel Aviv defeat Maccabi Rishon 88 – 74 and improve its Israeli League record to 19 – 12.
Alexander simply couldn’t be denied scoring 25 points with a sublime 10/11 from the field. He also won six fouls to finish the match with a 30 in PIR.
For Maccabi Rishon, that is now fourth in the standings with 16 – 15, Idan Zalmanson (15 points, 9 rebounds) and Charles Thomas (15 points) stood out.
Their team failed to defend properly at the first quarter falling behind 18 – 32. Maccabi Tel Aviv further assumed control to close halftime ahead 52 – 32 and then simply preserved its advantage.
