For about 30 minutes, Zalgiris Kaunas didn’t really feel quite safe against a quite tough Lietkabelis at home.
The Lithuanian League defending champs entered the fourth quarter up 55 – 53 but then got a double-digit lead and in the end managed to prevail 73 – 67 and make the first step towards winning the title once more.
Augusto Lima dropped a 20 points season-high while Leo Westermann had 10 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds to pace the winners. Edgaras Ulanovas added 14 points and Brock Motum 11.
For Lietkabelis, veterans Ksistof Lavrinovic and Mindaugas Lukauskis scored 15 points each.
