Maccabi prevailed over Hapoel with 81-80 in the Israeli Winner Cup quarterfinals.
DeShaun Thomas paced the winners with 17 points, John DiBartolomeo added 16, while Yovel Zoosman had 13.
For Hapoel, Tywain McKee finished the game with 23 points.
Hapoel took Maccabi by storm in the first period and led 30-18 after 10 minutes in the game. The hosts reacted quickly in the second quarter, and trimmed the deficit to two points at halftime, 45-43.
The two teams fought head to head during the second half, with multiple shifts in charge, yet Maccabi was the one that managed to outlast the battle in the final seconds.
