Hapoel got revenge against the Israeli powerhouse in the Tel Aviv derby 77 – 73. Maccabi remains on top of the standings in the Winner League despite the defeat.
The guests had a strong start (29 – 19) and the game was competitive until the end. Maccabi‘s reaction wasn’t enough and they were still trailing at the end of the third quarter (51 – 53).
Neven Spahija’s team took the lead with 3 minutes left (61 – 66) but a 10 – 2 run gave Hapoel its sixth win of the season. Pierre Jackson committed an important turnover with 45 seconds reaming.
Rafi Menco had 17 points for the winners while Michael Roll was Maccabi’s leading scorer with 13.
