Zalgiris Kaunas started the Lithuanian League playoffs without trouble as they recorded a 95-70 home victory against Nevezis Kedainiai in Game 1 of quarterfinal series.

Antanas Kavaliauskas led the winning side from the bench with 19 points while Brandon Davies scored 16 points. On the other side, Lester Medford JR couldn’t change things with his 19 points.

The guests were holding up for the first fifteen minutes as they were behind by only a two-point margin (41-39) but Zalgiris took over the game from that moment with eight straight points, eventually going on the break with 53-44 lead.

And the halftime rest helped the home team even more as they came out of the locker room with more energy and focused on finishing the game. The second half completely belonged to Zalgiris as they dominated the opponent allowing Nevezis to score only 26 in comparison to their 42 points finishing the game without any doubt.

Zalgiris will have a week of rest before they clash with Fenerbahce in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four semifinal game on Friday 18th of May.

Slightly later, Lietkabelis Panevezys won 103-86 in a very efficient LKL quarterfinals Game 1 against Siauliai. Ksistof Lavnrinovic led the victors with 18 points while Lorenzo Williams and Zanis Peiners helped with 17 each. On the other side, Laurynas Birutis scored game-high 22 points.
