In the first Lithuanian League semifinal game, Neptunas Klaipeda recorded an 84-79 road win against Lietuvos Rytas and took the 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series.

The game was full of ups and downs on both sides but Neptunas had the initial advantage throughout the game while the hosts tried to turn it around a couple of times. The victors’ control of the paint was their biggest weapon as they outjumped Rytas (32 in comparison to 20 rebounds) and also shot 65% from two-point territory while also forcing the opponent to earn points from the free throw line (19/26 in comparison to 6/9).

Simas Galdikas led the winning side with 17 points while Edgaras Zelionis helped with 15. On the other side, Rokas Giedraitis scored 16 points.

Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday 30th of May as Neptunas tries to improve the lead in front of their home crowd.
