Luka Brajkovic leads Davidson to fourth win

Davidson has many European players in its roster and it seems to be paying off.

Davidson (4-1) beat Northeastern (2-3) with 71-59 in a NCAA game played at Charleston’s “TD Arena” on Sunday. Wildcats’ top player was Austrian big man Luka Brajkovic, who finished the match with 17 points, 11 rebounds and one steal.

Jon Axel Gudmundsson (11pts, 8reb), David Czerapowicz (8pts, 1 reb), Dusan Kovacevic (2pts, 2reb, 2ast) were also in action for Davidson. Serb senior guard Vasa Pusica only got one bucket (1/6FG), but dished three assists and grabbed two boards for the losing side.

Jaylen Hoard had 14 points, nine rebounds, two assists and a steal in Wake Forest (3-1) 69-63 victory over Valparaiso (2-2). His French compatriot Olivier Sarr added four rebounds and two assists.

Slovenian Matej Kavas notched 12 points, seven rebounds and two steals, but Seattle (3-2) suffered a 73-70 loss at the hands of Southern Utah (3-0). Ivan Madunic got three points, five rebounds, an assist and a block for the winning side.

Young Italian Guglielmo Caruso finished up with five points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal for Santa Clara (0-3) in the 82-68 defeat against Washington (3-1).

Sophomore Dane Asbjorn Midtgaard got two points in Wichita State’s (2-3) 90-86 defeat to Alabama (4-1).
