Serb guard Djordje Dimitrijevic had a big game on Saturday, but wasn’t enough for Mercer.

Former Western Nebraska guard Djordje Dimitrijevic is showing his stuff in the beginning of the new NCAA season as a Mercer (3-3) player. On Saturday he scored a season-high 25 points and raised his 2018-19 average to 13.6. He also grabbed seven boards in 32 minutes, but the Bears suffered a 78-74 defeat at the hands of North Carolina State (6-0).

Slovenian guard Matej Kavas also notched a season-high with 20 points in Seattle’s (5-2) 83-80 win over Fairfield (1-5). He added nine rebounds and two assists. Aidas Kavaliauskas posted five points, one assist and one steal for the losing side.

Jon Axel Gudmundsson scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds, Luka Brajkovic posted 12 points and five boards, David Czerapowicz added three points and Dusan Kovasevic had one rebound, one assist and one block in Davidson’s (5-1) 78-69 victory over Northeastern (2-4).

Senior Spanish guard Francisco Alonso scored 16 points and dished five assists in UNC Greensboro’s (6-1) 80-73 victory over Lousiana Tech (4-2).

Ruben Guerrero continued his impressive senior NCAA season with 15 points, six rebounds and one block in Samford’s (6-1) 74-66 win over Purdue Fort Wayne (3-4)

Davide Moretti scored seven points in Texas Tech’s (6-0) 93-62 win against Northern Colorado (3-1).
