Ruben Guerrero has upped his game in his senior NCAA season. In his first three at South Florida he merely averaged five points per game. He is much better suited at Samford, as he’s proving from the beginning of the 2018-19 season.

On Thursday the Bulldogs (7-2) lost to Belmont (6-0) 99-93 in overtime (82-82), but the 23-year-old Spaniard center posted his second double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. He also blocked four shots in 32 minutes. He is now averaging 14.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks.

Italian Guglielmo Caruso and Swede Henrik Jadersten were also in action during Santa Clara’s (2-5) 81-70 win against Jackson State (1-7). The 19-year-old Italian posted four points and two rebounds, but Jadersten didn’t get on the board.
