Ironi Nes Ziona gambled away their lead but still came out on top 83-81 against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Israeli League as Daequan Cook nailed a triple for the win.
Cook notched game-high 24 points including the winning three-pointer while Chris Dowe followed with 22 points. For Maccabi, John DiBartolomeo scored 19 in addition to Michael Roll’s 13 points.
Maccabi held a small 41-37 lead at halftime but Nes Ziona took over after the break and went ahead 78-70 with three minutes left to play. However, Maccabi bounced back and grabbed an 81-80 lead thanks to DiBartolomeo’s triple with 16 seconds remaining. But Ziona’s Cook had the last say as he notched a three-pointer right back and handed his team the win.
Zion improved to 3-6 while Maccabi stands at a 6-2 record.
