Sophomore Italian forward/center Alessandro Lever was on a roll in Grand Canyon’s (7-5) two recent NCAA victories. The Antelopes overpowered Northern Iowa (5-7) on Wednesday and Mississippi Valley State (2-12) on Saturday with 73-62 and 85-74 wins. Lever helped out scoring 17 points in the first game of the week and 26 in the second, well above his season average of 13.9.

Francisco Alonso, Martin Kramplej, Oscar da Silva, Luka Brajkovic and many more European youngsters were also hot, while Vasa Pusica returned to action after recovering from his injury. However, the week belonged to 20-year-old Lever, who hopes to keep rising for the rest of his 2018-19 campaign.
