Zalgiris survives feisty Juventus

Juventus put up a good fight but Zalgiris was the one to prevail in the end and stay at the top of the Lithuanian League.

Juventus didn’t give up until the very end but Zalgiris was the one to come out on top with a 72-69 home win in the Lithuanian League.

Aaron White scored 15 points for Zalgiris in addition to Derrick Walton’s 13 and Leo Westermann’s ten points. On the other side, Martinas Geben nailed game-high 22 points followed by Tomas Dimsa’s 20.

Juventus held an early 24-15 lead but Zalgiris squad was the one going on the halftime rest with the minimal 38-37 advantage. The game stayed balanced and although Zalgiris managed to go ahead 70-64 with a minute left, the guests came back (70-69). Walton scored two free-throws for the hosts which got away with a win as Martinas Geben missed the triple for overtime.

Zalgiris improved to 14-1 on the top while Juventus holds a 6-9 record.
