Maccabi Rishon, coached by former Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Guy Goodes, beat the Israeli champs in the knock-out quarterfinal game of this season’s Israeli Cup. The final score was 88-77 as the hosts prevailed behind 18 points by Egor Kulikov and 17 by Kameron Long.
Maccabi Tel Aviv was trailing by 22 points at halftime (51-29) and couldn’t get back into the game after that. Scottie Wilbekin scored 17 points for the losing side which scored just 39% from the field and couldn’t keep up with the hosts, who were much more effective in scoring with a 49% from the field.
