Hapoel Jerusalem is the State Cup champion for the first time in eleven years.

Hapoel Jerusalem beat Maccabi Rishon Lezion 82 – 67 in the Israeli State Cup Final and won the trophy for the fifth time in the history of the club.

J’ Covan Brown scored 19 points while James Feldeine and TaShawn Thomas added 15 apiece for the Jerusalem side that was vastly superior in the second half of the game. Rishon was down just by two, 40 – 42 at the break but was overwhelmed in the third period when Hapoel took a 23-point lead, 71 – 48.

With ten minutes remaining, coach Oded Kattash’s team had no problems in preserving a game-winning advantage.

Alex Hamilton notched 16 points for Rishon.
