Samford made its upset case against UNC Greensboro in the Southern Conference Tournament, but Francisco Alonso led the Spartans to victory and to the semifinals securing top spot in Eurohoops’ Weekly Report on NCAA European action in the process. The senior Spaniard guard went off for a season-high 31 points making 7/17 from the field including four shots beyond the arc. He was on hand down the stretch with ten points in a row.

Upon the Lithuanian Federation beginning preparations to provide him with a Lithuanian citizenship, Ignas Brazdeikis geared up for the NCAA Postseason Tournament with 41 points in two games for Michigan. However, the freshman forward was good enough for only one “W” and ultimately third place in Big Ten’s Regular Season. Jon Axel Gudmundsson and Martin Krampelj closely followed rounding up the Top 4.
