Big night for European upstarts in NCAA Tournament second round action, especially for Matt Haarms.

Carsen Edwards scored a career-high 42 points and his Dutch teammate Matt Haarms added an 18-point, 9-rebound double-double for Purdue in the 87-61 victory over Villanova. The sophomore center also had two assists and one block in 33 minutes. Tennessee or Iowa will be the Sweet Sixteen opponent for the Boilermakers.

Swiss freshman guard Anthony Polite had nine points in 14 minutes and Florida State defeated Murray State, 90-62. Next up for the Seminoles will be Gonzaga that beat Baylor, 83-71, in another Saturday matchup with Killian Tillie notching two points and six rebounds.

Ignas Brazdeikis was held to five points, but Michigan advanced with a 64-49 victory against Florida. The promising Lithuanian freshman forward added three points and one block to his tally. Texas Tech or Buffalo will follow for the Wolverines.

LSU went through with a 69-67 win over Maryland. Brit senior forward Kavell Bigby-Williams contributed with two points, eight rebounds, two blocks and one assist in 22 minutes. The Tigers will now face Michigan State.
