Despite basically playing with six players, Maccabi Tel Aviv managed to survive a double-overtime thriller against Gilboa Galil and get a 112-110 road win.
Due to injury woes, Ioannis Sfairopoulos was forced to use a short rotation with four players spending more than 43 minutes on the floor while two more over 30 minutes. Dori Sahar also played but only a bit over three minutes.
Nonetheless, the squad stepped up to the occasion with Scottie Wilbekin banking 35 points -including the floater to force overtime – and nine assists while Jake Cohen scored 33 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Deni Avdija had 13 points and ten boards.
For Gilboa Galil (which played with a seven-man rotation), Jammer Gali scored 34 points along with nine boards while Edgar Sosa added 22 including the triple to force the second overtime. Justin Tilman logged 19 points and 13 boards.
