After 20 successful years in the sport, Florent Pietrus announced his retirement on Wednesday through his social media platforms.

The French international forward leaves behind a great legacy with the French National Team; He has helped the team reach gold at the 2013 FIBA EuroBasket, a bronze medal at the 2014 FIBA World Cup, as well as two more bronze medals and a silver one at the 2005, 2015 and 2011 EuroBasket respectively.

He was named EuroCup champion in 2010 with Valencia, while he has won the French championship three times (2001, 2003, 2004), all with Elain Bearnais.

Pietrus went undrafted at the 2003 NBA draft, though his career elevated in Europe with teams like Valencia, Malaga, Estudiantes, SIG Strasbourg, while he signed off with the Orleans of the French Pro A.
