Monaco staying on course in French League with win over Orleans

Monaco held off Orleans’ big comeback and improved to a 12-2 record at the top of the French League standings

Despite gambling away a 47-25 lead, AS Monaco didn’t allow any surprises and logged a 92-80 home win against Orleans in the French League.

Orleans even managed to take over the lead a few times at the end of the third and the beginning of the fourth quarter but Monaco made a 16-2 run to secure the win.

Rob Gray led the way for the winning side with 16 points followed by Mathias Lessort with 13, Ibrahima Fall Faye with 12, and Damien Inglis with 11 points.

Faye and Inglis also grabbed eight boards each. For Orleans, Chima Moneke, Paris Lee and Luke Fischer all had big outing with 22 points each but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Monaco stayed at the top with a 12-2 record while Orleans sits just outside the playoff zone with 7-8. Dijon is second with 13-4 followed by Strasbourg with 10-4 and ASVEL with 9-5 as the competition gets back to speed when it comes to scheduling.
