After EuroLeague, Monaco also launched its French League games with a win.

After missing the EuroLeague opener AS Monaco against Panathinaikos, Rob Gray (muscle discomfort) returned to the team by scoring 21 points in a 80 – 75 road win against Cholet for the first round of the season in French League.

Danilo Andjusic, a standout in the victory over Panathinaikos, had 11 points while Paris Lee contributed nine points plus six assists for Monaco. Their team took a 25 – 39 lead in the second period but Roanne came back to go ahead 62 – 60 early in the fourth period. With the score 71 – 71, Monaco made a 2 – 6 run and retained the advantage until the end.

Mike James was out for Monaco.

Loren Jackson (15 points, 10 assists) and Johny Berhanemeneskal (15 points) were Roanne’s top scorers.
