Seventh straight win in the French League for LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne

LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne defeated JL Bourg, 68-62, in a delayed Betclic Elite LNB Pro A Regular Season Round 25 affair Sunday evening.

Chris Jones recorded a team-high 15 points as his side narrowly held on down the stretch to secure the win on the road. Towering center Youssoupha Fall had ten points with a perfect 5/5 from the field. The team coached by T.J. Parker jumped to 15-6 with the seventh win in a row despite sidelining Elie Okobo (shoulder), Antoine Diot, David Lighty (hand), Raymar Morgan (back), and Dylan Osetkowski.

Coming off five straight losses in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, ASVEL will welcome Alba Berlin at Astroballe Thursday. Down to 9-16, the team 4.5 games outside the Playoffs zone of Europe’s premier club continental competition.

As for Bourg, Laurent Legname’s side was forced to 10-11 at the domestic level. Alexandre Chassang tallied 17 points in the losing effort.

Elsewhere, Boulogne Metropolitans 92 fell into a tie with ASVEL at 15-6 after its third consecutive domestic loss. Vince Hunter packed 19 points and Miralem Halilovic finished with 18 points in the loss, 91-82, to ESSM Le Portel in a postponed Round 14 contest. Experienced point guard Benoit Mangin posted a 24-point, 11-assist double-double for the home side.

Kameron Taylor producing an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double led SIG Strasbourg to the 80-67 victory opposite Nanterre 92 in another Round 14 affair.
