Ali Traore decided to close the chapter and has officially retired from playing basketball

Right after turning 37 years old on February 28th, Ali Traore decided to announce his retirement from playing basketball tomorrow day via social media.

The decision was expected to come one of these days, especially so after Traore joined the commentating job for the local TV channel of Monaco, where he works with David Cozette.

Traore had a two-decade-long career with a big presence in France but he also played across Europe for teams such as Virtus Roma, Lokomotiv Kuban, Alba Berlin, Estudiantes.

In France, he played for ASVEL, Nanterre, Limoges, Monaco, Strasbourg, Roanne, and most recently for Antibes Sharks. He won the French league in 2009 with ASVEL while he sealed four French Cups with various teams.

He won silver with the French national team at the 2011 FIBA EuroBasket in Lithuania.
