Dwayne Bacon scored 24 points, including the game-winner at the buzzer, and grabbed eight rebounds to lead AS Monaco to a 105 – 103 overtime win over Strasbourg in a major French Jeep Elite League clash. Monaco came back from a 15-point deficit in the third period before getting the victory.

Before Bacon beat the buzzer with the help of the backboard to put an end to a thrilling battle, Mike James had forced the extra period with a layup that tied the score at 89 with seven seconds to play in the fourth period. Cameron Taylor attempted a tough shot and was off target in the last possession of regulation.

James finished with 17 points plus eight assists while Alpha Diallo scored 18.

Matt Mitchell had 20 points, Ike Udanoh scored 19 and Gaylor Curier dropped 18 points for Strasbourg that led 44 – 59 three minutes into the second half. Monaco responded well enough to get back at a shooting distance (68 – 71) at the end of the third period and completed the comeback when Leo Westermann scored for the 83 – 82.

Udanoh put Strasbourg up 87 – 89 with 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter but it was Monaco sent the game to overtime and then prevailed.

Monaco is now 16 – 7 while Strasbourg dropped to 13 – 10.
