Victor Wembnayama showed off all his talent and led ASVEL to a win in the French league

Victor Wembnayama is considered one of the best prospects in the world and he’s been showing a glimpse of his potential this season in ASVEL. His latest display came against Le Portel in France and he was the one leading his team to an 85-65 win over Le Portel, with a career-best performance.

The 2004-born big went off for career-high 25 points on 7-12 from two and 3-4 from three. He also grabbed seven rebounds and made three blocks to accumulate 27 PIR, career-high as well. And the 18-year-old did all of it in just 25 minutes on the floor.

Youssoupha Fall was great too with 21 points as the duo of ASVEL’s bigs dominated the opposition on both ends of the floor. David Lighty added ten points.

For Le Portel, Charles-Noe Abouo scored 18 and Mouphtaou Yarou 15 points.

ASVEL improved to 17-8 and currently sits in the third spot of the French league standings while Le Portel is near the regulation zone with 9-17.

Meanwhile, Monaco got a close 90-84 win over Orleans to stay ahead of ASVEL with 18-7 and keep Orleans behind Le Portel with 8-16.

Mike James had 24 points, including the dagger three-pointer, while Donatas Motiejunas followed with 17. On the opposing side, LaMonte Ulmer had 21 and Youssou Ndoye 19 points.
