Mike James leads Monaco past Limoges

Monaco made a superb finish to escape Limoges with a victory.

Mike James had 21 points and 10 assists to lead AS Monaco to an 89 – 88 comeback win on the road over Limoges in the penultimate round of the French Jeep Elite regular season. The Monegasque side was up 36  – 46 at halftime but trailed by double figures in the beginning of the third period before getting the victory.

Demonte Harper had 22 points while CJ Massinburg and Nicolas Lang scored 18 apiece for Limoges was up 67 – 56 at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Monaco rallied to begin reducing the deficit but was unable to get an advantage until the last minutes.

With the score 84 – 82 and a minute to play, Leo Westermann drained the go-ahead triple and then James added one of his own to put Monaco ahead by four. Limoges didn’t manage to get the lead again.

Westermann finished with 16 points and Donatas Motiejunas scored 15 for Monaco.
