Victor Wembanyama scored 14 points, including five in the fourth quarter for Metropolitans 92 in the 93-87 victory over SLUC Nancy in Palais des sports Marcel-Cerdan Friday.

The leading candidate for the top spot in the 2023 NBA draft displayed crazy reach once more but was relatively quiet in offense with 6/12 from the field and 1/2 from three-point range.

Six rebounds, three assists, and one block helped his side jump to 17-6, now 1.5 games behind AS Monaco and from the top of France’s Betclic Elite LNB Pro A Regular Season standings.

Coming into the Round 23 contest, Wemby averaged a league-high 22.1 points. Also in command of the list of players with the most rebounds and blocks, he has been dominating the first division of France.

Tremont Waters banking in six three-pointers on a 25-point showing was the driving force for the team coached by Vincent Collet against Nancy. For the losing side, Stephane Gombauld also tallied 25 points, a new individual record for the 2022-23 season.

In more Friday action, Fos-sur-Mer upset JDA Dijon, 97-95.
