Still without Mike James, AS Monaco had their backs against the wall entering the fourth quarter of Game 4 against ASVEL, playing in the Principality to try to clinch a spot in the LNB Finals.

The team from Lyon was up by 12 points (78-66), and it looked like Game 5 had to be played to find an opponent for Paris in the decisive series for the Championship in France. However, AS Monaco produced a 25-8 run in the fourth, winning 91-86 and advancing.

Elie Okobo was the absolute protagonist for Vassilis Spanoulis’ team in such a victorious night, leading with 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists. He also shot 8/13 from the field and 5/6 at the line.

He was followed by yet another crucial performance by Matthew Strazel, who finished with a double-double of 18 points and 10 assists. Mam Jaiteh had 12 points.

Five players finished in double-digits for ASVEL, with Paris Lee and Melvin Ajinca adding 13 points each.

In the other Semi-Finals, Paris Basketball rolled past JL Bourg-en-Bresse in a rematch of last year’s BKT EuroCup Finals. Tiago Splitter’s team advanced to the Finals with a 3-0 win.
