Mike James threatens not to play against Bourg in the playoffs

Monaco’s season isn’t ending in the best way possible. With financial problems, injuries, and elimination from the Euroleague playoffs, the French team has set its sights on the LNB.

Monaco star Mike James does not want to play in the second playoff game against Bourg, according to L’Equipe. With Elie Okobo refusing to play in the last two regular-season games due to a strike, James appears to be joining him in his disagreement with the club. James was serving a suspension and was joining the team for this game.

L’Equipe reports that James was ready for Game 2 against Bourg after Monaco’s victory in Game 1 (81-75). Tensions have escalated in recent days, and Mike James has decided not to travel with the team, effectively boycotting the game.

Monaco still owes a large sum of money to the EuroLeague’s star player and leading scorer. The debts remain unpaid. L’Equipe reports that the team tried to persuade him during Tuesday’s practice to join them for the second game against Bourg.
