The club is considering an appeal to the French National Olympic and Sports Committee

AS Monaco announced that the French Basketball Federation’s Appeals Chamber has rejected the club’s participation in the Betclic Elite for the 2026-27 season.

The reigning French champions are now examining the possibility of taking the case to the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) in an effort to overturn the decision and receive authorization to compete in LNB competitions.

Monaco also thanked the institutions of the Principality and everyone supporting the club’s restructuring process and its efforts to meet the regulatory requirements established by the FFBB and LNB.

The decision places a major question mark over Monaco’s future, with several aspects of the club’s planning for next season now up in the air. That includes the expected arrival of Yakuba Ouattara.

Further information is expected as Monaco decides whether to appeal the ruling.
