The devastating loss of the Pro A championship title brought some quick and radical changes in Strasbourg. The French club decided to not renew the contract of coach Vincent Collet who parts ways with the team after five years.
While Strasbourg entered the Finals vs Villeurbanne with the home court advantage and began with two consecutive victories at home, their opponents made one stunning comeback to beat them in three games in a row and ultimately win the championship. According to the official announcement, the “crushing defeat” in the fifth final was what made the management decide against the renewal of French coach’s contract.
The club thanked Vincent Collet for his efforts in these five years and informed that it will soon announce the name of his replacement.
