ASVEL Villeurbanne took a much important victory over Hyeres Toulon in the game that concluded the 25th Week of the French league regular season.

The first game for David Andersen after his return to Villeurbanne was marked with success. ASVEL beat Hyeres Toulon 79 – 57, a crucial win that keeps them within the playoffs zone.

With the Australian forward scoring 8 points, grabbing 9 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists the defending champs took a result that keeps them at the eighth place of the table with a 13 – 12 record.

Darryl Watkins led ASVEL in scoring with 18 points and added 8 rebounds. Trevis Simpson had a team-high 15 points for Hyeres Toulon that is 9 – 16.

Once again we have a tie at the second spot of standings since Pau Orthez fell to Paris Levallois (16-9) and Chalon Saone passed victoriously from Antibes. They both have a 18/7 win-loss ratio.

Meanwhile, Monaco (22-3) took another step towards sealing first place at the end of the regular season, with a display of strength over Gravelines Dunkerque (14-11) away from home.
