The Day 12 of French ProA league has concluded with a thriller game between Le Mans and Nanterre 92. Everything was up for grabs near the end and it was Nanterre that won 83-87.
The game was tied at 81-81 with one minute left on the clock when Heiko Schaffartzik hit a triple for Nanterre. Youssoupha Fall answered with a layup, but Jean-Marc Pansa and Jamal Shuler sealed the deal for Nanterre. With this loss, Le Mans falls to an 8-4 record and Nanterre moves up to a 7-5.
Thanks to solid performance in the second quarter, the visiting squad built a comfortable lead after the first half 45-39, they remained on that pace in the third quarter as well winning that period 23-17. In the begging of the last quarter, Nanterre had their biggest lead 70-56.
The hosts were able to bounce back down the last stretch as they tied the game with one minute left on the clock 81-81, but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Schaffartzik finished the game with 18 points and his teammate Jamal Shuler added 17 and 5 assists.
For the losing side, Youssoupha Fall had a strong double-double with 20 points and 15 boards.
