Le Mans Sarthe Basket advanced to the French League Finals after an 85-79 victory in a Game 5 thriller against SIG Basket Strasbourg. Their opponent in the Finals will be Monaco.

The extra five minutes of the match were fairly balanced but Chris Lofton scored twice in a row from behind the arc to put Le Mans ahead 79-74 with forty seconds remaining, the deficit from which Strasbourg couldn’t recover.

Le Mans was up by a seven-point margin (64-57) during the fourth quarter but the hosts bounced back to tie the game at 64 with 25 seconds remaining. Justin Cobbs who was calm from the free throw line gave Strasbourg a two-point advantage (66-64) but Zack Wright answered to tie the game at 66 and take it into overtime.

Lofton finished the game with game-high 25 points (5/9 three-pointers) while Cobbs added 15. On the other side, David Logan scored 20 in addition to Dee Bosts’s 15 points.
