TBF wants to guarantee contracts for the remainder of 2019-2020.

The Turkish Federation will reassess the coronavirus situation in the country in regards to the basketball leagues’ postponement on April 30.

“We will continue to follow this period until April 30, 2020 and we expect our clubs, basketball players and all stakeholders of our basketball world to have an understanding of sports relations and contract situations, and we will reassess the situation by taking into consideration the decisions of our state institutions and demands of our clubs,” the Turkish Federation mentioned in an official statement. BSL, along with all championships in Turkey, was shut down on March 20.

TBF also said that resumption of competitions will first require all health-threatening factors to “disappear.” The goal of the Federation is to continue the season “as soon as possible” once conditions allow it.

 

The Federation had also made the necessary legal preparations contracts in order for the contracts of players and coaches to be guaranteed until the end of the season.
