Unbeaten Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce Beko are aiming for a 5-0 start

Round 5 of the Turkish League started Saturday with Frutti Extra Bursaspor jumping to 3-2 and Pinar Karsiyaka also among the winners. League leaders Fenerbahce Beko and Anadolu Efes improved to 5-0, Sunday and Monday, respectively.

Frutti Extra Bursaspor – Tofas 83-70

Malik Newman posted a team-high performance for Bursaspor with 27 points, Can Mutaf had 14 and Oguz Savas posted 11 points. The team bounced back from a two-game losing streak to improve to a 3-2 record

Sean Kilpatrick added 21 points for the visiting team, and Jeremy Simmons exited the game with 14, as Tofas suffered its second consecutive defeat (2-3).

HDI Sigorta Afyon Belediye – Turk Telekom 84-89

Sam Dekker dominated with 28 points leading his side to its fourth straight “W”. Kyle Wiltjer posted an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Pako Cruz hit 21 points in a losing effort.

Pinar Karsiyaka – Darussafaka Tekfen 89-78

Former Nebraska standout, Sek Henry, went for 19 points. Raymar Morgan and Amath M’Baye contributed to the third win in a row with 17 apiece.

Dogus Ozdemiroglu led the losing side with 18 points.

Arel Universitesi Buyukcekmece – Bahcesehir Koleji 66-92

Comfortable away win for Zafer Aktas’ side powered by floor general Ismet Akipinar and his 21 points in just over 21 minutes.

Gabriel Olaseni produced 13 points in a tough evening for the home team.

Fenerbahce Beko – Aliaga Petkim 93 – 70 

Fenerbahce improved its record to 5-0 by routing Petkim at home. The Nando De Colo-less (due to foreign player restrictions) Fener was led by Ahmet Duverioglu (14 points, nine rebounds), Edgaras Ulanovas (13 points), Lorenzo Brown (12 points, eight assists) and Melih Mahmutoglu (11 points).

Thomas Wimbush had 16 points and six rebounds, Ian Hummer scored 10 points and got seven rebounds while Ege Arar finished with 10 points and five assists for Petkim that is now 1-4.

Galatasaray – Gaziantep Basketbol 86-90

A high-scoring clash with a few big performances on both sides. Mouhammadou Jaiteh was leading the victors with 27 points while Trevis Simpson added 19 and Marko Tomas 15 points.

On the other side, Daryl Macon banked 28 in addition to Jonathan Williams’ 20 and Brock Motum‘s 14 points. Williams also grabbed 12 boards.

OGM Ormanspor – Lokman Hekim Fethiye Belediye Spor 77-66

Stanton Kidd was leading the charge for the winning team with 23 points and ten rebounds while Terrell Holloway had 21 points.

Abdul-Malik Abu scored 19 for the opposing side while Branden Lee helped with ten points.

Besiktas – Anadolu Efes 74-81

Ergin Ataman’s side prevailed in the Istanbul derby. Adrien Moerman and Vasilije Micic with 18 points each did the most in keeping the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague outlet at safe distance throughout the second half.

Ercan Osmani went for 15 points in a losing effort.
