The time has come for Shane Larkin to make his first season appearance. Anadolu Efes‘ posted the news on social media with a catchy title, “The return of the Lar-King.” But his first game did not go well. Unfortunately, he sustained another injury.

He is part of the starting lineup for the postponed match of the Turkish Basketball Superleague against Buyukcekmece.

The American guard has been sidelined with a ligament tear injury in his right-hand fingers since the Group stage of the 2022 EuroBasket, where he represented Turkey.

Larkin was forced to leave the Turkish national team before the EuroBasket knockout phase and return to Istanbul, where he underwent surgery.

Shane Larkin joined Efes On July 26, 2018. Since then, he has won two EuroLeague titles with the Istanbul team and many domestic accolades.

But, his first game after a long brake will be a forgettable one. Efes lost against Buyukcekmece 83-76, despite a monster game by Elijah Bryant. The big man from Efes scored 36 points, but the home team had Terrel Harris and Martynas Sajus. They both had 34 points.

Larkin played for 17 minutes and produced 7 points, 1 rebound, and 2 assists until he sustained a leg injury. He had a noticeable limp while heading to the beach and did not return after.
