Galatasaray Nef announced that they parted ways with the head coach Andreas Pistiolis.

The Greek coach was part of the club since the second half of the 2021/22 season, and in November signed an extension until 2025.

We would like to thank Andreas Pistiolis, who worked devotedly during his duty as the Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball First Team since March last season, for his efforts for our club. We wish him success in the next chapter of his career,” as per the official statement.

Pistiolis managed to carry Galatasaray to the semi-finals of the Basketball Super League last season and was on the verge of knocking out tough rival Anadolu Efes.

The yellow-red team, which entered the 2022-23 season slowly, fell short of expectations under the management of Andreas Pistiolis and said goodbye to the Basketball Champions League early.

Galatasaray is in 12th place after 27 matches in the Turkish Basketball Super League standings.

Andreas Pistiolis worked as an assistant to Zeljko Obradovic in Panathinaikos, and Dimitris Itoudis in Banvit and CSKA Moscow, before joining Galatasaray.
