With both teams previously arriving very close to championship vibes in their respective International competitions, Galatasaray and Anadolu Efes squared off in another Istanbul derby.

The red-and-yellow side, which reached the final of the Basketball Champions League against Unicaja in Athens, surrendered at home and lost by 34 points (87-53) against the EuroLeague side, which concluded its European campaign in Game 5 against Panathinaikos.

Dogus Ozdemiroglu was the inspired protagonist of Luca Banchi’s team’s resounding victory, finishing with one of his best games of the season at 21 points. Elijah Bryant and Jordan Nwora added 17 points each.

Nobody on Galatasaray scored more than 12 points – the amount of scoring contribution provided by James Palmer Jr. Tyrone Wallace was the other one finishing in double-digits at 10 points.

Anadolu Efes, which is yet to recover one last game domestically before the Playoffs, against Besiktas, has now improved its record to 22-7. Galatasaray, instead, will play the Play-Ins with a 14-16 record.
