Anadolu Efes opened the Turkish BSL Playoffs in dominant fashion.
Luca Banchi’s squad cruised to a 92–71 home victory over Mersin, taking a 1–0 lead in the best-of-three quarterfinal series.
Daniel Oturu was the undisputed star of the night, dominating under Mersin’s rim.
The Nigerian-American center shot an incredible 15/18 from two-point range and a perfect 6/6 from the free-throw line, finishing with a career-high 36 points. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists, posting a PIR of 41.
P.J. Dozier followed with 12 points, Ercan Osmani added 10, while Elijah Bryant contributed nine for the home team.
David Efianayi led Mersin with 15 points, Brady Manek added 12, and Justin Cobbs had 11 points and seven assists.
Anadolu Efes is now just one win away from the semifinals and will look to close out the series in Game 2, scheduled for June 1st in Mersin.
On the other game of the night, Besiktas opened the playoffs with a 91-75 big win over Galatasaray with Jonah Mathews and Berk Ugurlu scoring 19 points each.
Galatasaray‘s big man Ebuka Izundu had a monster game with 18 points and 10 rebounds which was not enough.
