Anadolu Efes became the second team to advance in the Turkish Cup semifinals after beating Fenerbahce. During the post-game press conference, Velimir Perasovic expressed his disagreement with the fact that the two leaders of the league standings faced each other so early in the tournament.

“I think the first two teams in the standings shouldn’t play against each other in the quarterfinals,” said Perasovic. “There are different version of the tournament in other countries and maybe those are better. The Federation should think about this,” said the Croatian coach.

Perasovic also mentioned Efes‘ superiority in offensive rebounds (16 vs 9) as a key aspect behind his team’s victory. “I have to say that it was a very tough game. We played hard from the beginning to the end of it. We deserved to win. We got an advantage thanks to the offensive rebounding and that’s a main reason we won the game.”
