It was a common secret that the days of Ergin Ataman at Galatasaray were numbered and today he confirmed via twitter that he is parting ways with the club.

The former Turkish national team coach wrote: “Separations are inevitable in places that are not sincere and betrayal is the heaviest thing. I would like to thank everyone who support me all these five years. This morning we had a meeting with board and I said them will not ask any wage for this year if needed. However Can Topsakal told me that I’m not wanted in the club”.

Topsakal is the board executive member responsible for basketball operations and Galatasaray already announced the hiring of Erman Kunter. The club also announced the departure of Ataman, thanking him for what he had offered.
