Mahmutoglu leads Fenerbahce past Eskisehir

Even though Eskisehir played solid basketball and challenged the hosts, Fenerbahce showed superiority and defeated its opponent.

Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul defeated Eskisehir 79-69 at home to improve its record to 19-3 and remain first in the Turkish league standings. The visitors slipped to 10-12 on the year.

Fenerbahce took control of the game in the second period, scoring 27 points, and building a comfortable double-digit lead (46-32). Obradovic‘s squad was efficient in the first twenty minutes (68% 2p.) (45% 3p.).

In the second half, however, Eskisehir tried to come back with Kravtsov, and William Baron (18 pts) leading the way, cutting this deficit to ten points with a 12-18 third period but could not complete the comeback.

For the hosts, Melih Mahmutoglu finished with 16 points, while Ahmet Duverioglu added 10 points and seven rebounds.

On the other hand, for the losing side, Viacheslav Kravtsov finished with a game-high 27 points.

It is also interesting to note, that Fenerbahce has now won 50 straight home games in the BSL competition.
