It was a tense game that turned out to be a dogfight, but when all was said and done, Fenerbahce got the 74-69 over Tofas Bursa and remains unbeaten with a 7-0 record in the Turkish BSL.

Joffrey Lauvergne had his best game yet after his return to Europe with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while captain Melih Mahmutoglou added 17 crucial points.

Sammy Mejia with 24 points and Berkan Durmaz with 17 did their best for the hosts, who trailed by 21 points (54-33) at the 25th minute of the game. However, Tofas reacted and at the end of the third period they made it a five-point game (58-53) thanks to a 20-4 partial score.

“We made stupid mistakes and I don’t understand why we were thinking that the game was over”, said Fenerbahce‘s coach Zeljko Obradovic.

Still, his team kept a small lead until the end and managed to get the win. Tofas has now a 6-2 record, good enough for a tie in the second place of the standings with Anadolu Efes.
