Eighty years after the first EuroBasket in history was held, the sample is more than sufficient and the candidate contenders for the title of the best European player are many. Eurohoops gives the fans the opportunity to pick their own greatest.
A whole era is coming to a close! And when a cycle closes it is customary to make a summation, an evaluation and an appraisal of everything that’s come before.
The latest golden generation of European basketball gave their last performance in a EuroBasket, since all three active NBA legends (Gasol, Parker and Nowitzki) said that their last appearance with the national team of their country is going to be in the Olympic Games or the pre-Olympic tournament (this applies to Nowitzki only in the event Germany hosts the tournament).
After the completion of the EuroBasket, Sergio Scariolo declared that Pau Gasol is the greatest European player in the history of basketball and, as expected, the discussion on the subject of who is the best flared up.
Eurohoops.net singled out the 15 players based on the longevity of their career, their quality as players, their accomplishments at the national and club level and the difference that they made with their game.
